About Robby Melling
Senior Creative Producer. Visual Storyteller. Cinematic Strategist.
With nearly two decades of experience, I specialize in crafting emotionally charged, visually bold content that helps brands cut through the noise. Whether I’m producing commercials or a digital-first campaign, I bring clarity, creative vision, and technical precision to every frame.
I’m currently a Senior Producer at Strive Creative in Ferndale, where I lead the execution of high-impact work for clients across automotive, lifestyle, and tech industries. My portfolio includes campaigns for Chevrolet, Ram, Jeep, narrative branding, and editorial storytelling for Microsoft Ventures.
With a BFA from the College for Creative Studies, I combine artistic discipline with deep production experience, guiding projects from pitch to final cut with an eye for story and a drive for excellence.
Lifelong traveler and outdoors enthusiast, when I’m not producing content for clients, you’ll likely find me off-grid, hiking a trail with a camera in hand, chasing golden hour through the trees. The national parks are my creative reset button — places like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier and parks across the Southwest remind me why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place. Nature has a rhythm and perspective that fuels my work and keeps my eye sharp for the moments that matter most.
📍 Based in Detroit. Available everywhere stories need to be told.
What Makes Me Unique
Most producers focus on logistics. Most creatives focus on ideas.
I do both.
With a background in creative direction and hands-on video production, I bring both sides of the table together, bridging the gap between big-picture thinking and flawless execution. That means fewer handoffs, clearer communication, and smoother workflows from kickoff to delivery.
I’m a producer who understands story structure, pacing, and performance.
I’m a creative who respects deadlines, budgets, and deliverables.
Whether I’m leading a campaign, directing a shoot, or shaping the edit, I make sure the creative stays sharp and the execution stays tight, because in this industry, you can’t afford to pick just one.
